Los Pirañas w/ Spacehall Sound Machine and DJ Mafondo @ Soda Bar

A celebrated instrumental supergroup from Bogotá, Los Pirañas brings together three of Colombia’s most visionary musicians: Eblis Álvarez (Meridian Brothers, Chúpame el Dedo), Mario Galeano (Frente Cumbiero, Ondatrópica), and Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo, Chúpame el Dedo). Fusing the rich tapestry of South American rhythms—cumbia, champeta, tropicalia, salsa, and more—with avant-psych rock, dub minimalism, and spiked jazz, they embody retro-futurism at its boldest. Shapeshifting, absurdist, rooted, and prescient, Los Pirañas are a transmission from the outer zones.

Their journey began as high school friends in Bogotá, driven by a love of riffs, heavy beats, and raw guitar noise. Decades later, with international acclaim and projects spanning continents, they reunite to channel that youthful energy through the prism of mastery and time. Their latest album, Historia Natural, captures this balance: innocence meets experience, primal spirit meets sophisticated sound, and tradition meets experimental freedom.

Son Rompe Pera, The Sleepwalkers @ Quartyard

Born and raised in Naucalpan, the deep outskirts of Mexico City, the Gama brothers and their band Son Rompe Pera have thrashed through all preconceived notions of what a marimba-centered band is, and have rendered the instrument inseparable from their punk ethos. Their shows have become home to the now-infamous marimba mosh pit across the globe, joining intergenerational audiences in moments of essential release and community around their hard-hitting, forward-thinking, unrelenting punk-infused cumbias. With two critically-acclaimed records under their belt, and hundreds of shows on some of the world’s most prestigious stages to a rapidly growing audience, the band consistently proves their boundlessness as far as where they can take the genre, standing vehemently by the fact that traditions are meant to be both honored, broken, and built again.

Son Rompe Pera is responsible for developing and coining the now-global genre ‘Cumbia Punk’- one rooted in their history which is steeped in deep-hearted rebellion.

The Sleepwalkers have been playing authentic Americana roots rock since 1992. They specialize in original American music styles ranging from blues, country, Tex-Mex, Cumbia, and their own brand of roots rock. Since their inception, they've played with top National artists & legends such as Link Wray, Ronnie Dawson, Sleepy Labeef, Charlie Ryan, The Texas Tornados, The Blasters, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kid Ramos, The Beat Farmers, Freddy Fender, The Rev. Horton Heat, Big Sandy, The Supersuckers, BR5-49, The Blazers, Paladins, Johnny Legend, Rosie Flores, The Mighty Blue Kings, Graham Parker, El Vez, The Royal Crown Revue, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, Roy Condo, Harry Dean Statton (and many others), & have garnered 6 nominations for Best Americana/Roots band by the San Diego Music Awards.

They have collaborated for years with different projects and sounds, however, they found their best way to express their misfortunes and happiness through сumbia, downtempo and trip-hop. Latin-pop, indie pop and electronic music have all had strong but equal impacts on Jackie’s musical path at different times in her life. Mendoza has been experimenting with electronic ukulele-based pop, expanding the instrument’s sound to its maximum potential by layering it with beats while singing in both English and Spanish.
